As the Corona Virus starts spreading into Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennesse life around the MAIS is getting interesting. Thursday Louisiana and Mississippi state governments, the MAIS, and the CDC were advising schools to stay open. As of Friday around 1:00 Louisiana's governor closed schools until April 13. I teach at a member school in Louisiana. We seemed puzzled by the 180 but had no choice to close over a stipulation in the shut down. It stated there can be no meetings of 250 people. We have suspended sports for the next week including practice. Mississippi has not got an order to close. They also waved the 250 person meeting rule for schools; or at least that is my interpretation. If it continues I am not sure how contest between member schools from the different states will be handled. What are your thoughts.
