I wonder how the schools that are taking the kids from the public schools are going to come out in the next reclassification. I am also curious if the MSAIS is going to keep the current criteria for counting only boys for football?
My understanding is that only 11th through 8th are counted. So if they are seniors it will not affect them. Also from what I understand only boys will be counted for football classification.
I feel bad for the kids of the schools, especially the seniors, whose administration cares so little about them that they will take Seniors for one year for such a short term gain that will no doubt hurt their schools in the long term. I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion but its a shame none the less.
There's only a handful of schools that will take upcoming senior (usually athletic ) transfers, and those who do imo offer poor leadership for their schools. Trading short-term superficial gains for long-term foundational gains in enrollment is the last gasp before school closure. I've seen it happen over and over in several states and it hasn't, not once, worked.

But back to the OP. Counting boys/girls for specific sports is is really good idea if it can done accurately. Hard to pull off, but a good concept.
